Jan Howard, APR
  • Bio

    Jan has more than 25 years of experience in public relations, integrated marketing, news media (from The Tulsa Daily World to the Reuters News Service), legislative advocacy, fund raising, risk management communications, employee communications and consumer relations.

    Jan began her career in Washington, DC, as a lobbyist for an international oil firm, and later went on to cover the industry as the Oil & Gas editor for a major mid-western newspaper. She moved to Tucson in 1989 to lead the marketing launch of what is now known as the Sarver Heart Center for the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. From that launch, she then joined Carondelet Health Network, now Southern Arizona’s largest health care provider, leading their marketing and public relations efforts. After 22 years of focus on promoting health care services and organizations, Jan joined Strongpoint in 2006 to apply her strategic planning knowledge and expertise to other industry sectors.

    Nationally accredited in public relations, Jan has a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in economics.

  • Fun Fact

    At Booker T. Washington High School, Jan was selected by faculty as one of the eight outstanding Hornet VIPs. This was just after she was almost expelled for helping lead a student-run survey of teachers.
